God, the church, and Christians are NOT the reason for political parties, a bad economy, or for dumb people not knowing the difference between their butt and their head. 

I’ve met perfectly fine far left Christians, and I have met perfectly fine far right Christians. There does seem to be a lack of tolerance for God in this country, which I think is FUBAR, but I also don’t think calling people the devil is the answer. Is it supposed to be my job to spread the word of God and Christ around? Yes, but I will not shove it down your throat because it isn’t what God’s word calls for. If you have beef with people who call themselves Christians, take it up with them. Don’t trash me or my faith because of some other person who I cannot control what they say.

“The Joker” - Portrait Painting by Sam Spratt

The infamous Batman villain has been done to death. So when tumblr voted on him to be my next painting, I wanted to take the familiar subject and really try to do a fresh take on it. The result is a labor of love (24+ hours of painting) of Joker in a lesser seen perspective (from his eyes) doing the lesser seen action of reapplying his makeup. I had a lot of fun with the details—rendering everything from the cracked facepaint around skin creases, eye-reflection, fingerprint paint smudges and cracks on the mirror, cuts/scrapes from the shard cutting into the hand, etc. (Though based on the design of The Dark Knight Joker, it is not modelled after Heath Ledger in any way).
